I always get nervous advising these types of situations because trying to introduce service to a family member can lead to a lot of problems within the family and disrupt the peace of that family. 

I get why you’re feeling this way about both your uncle and stepdad. They swooped in and rescued you from a couple of traumatic events in your life, so naturally you idolize and idealize them. I don’t know if that means you should serve them.

However, if you’re set on this course, then I would simply start serving by taking care of domestic chores and catering to him (cooking/serving his meals, getting him drinks, etc.). At that point you could tell him you identify as a faggot, and he will have questions about that (so be prepared). From there, who knows? It will certainly get the wheels turning.
