I don’t know if you ever saw the 2008 BBC TV serie Merlin, a very loose reinterpretation of the Arthurian legends, in which Merlin is Arthur’s manservant and has to keep his magic secret. I saw it again for the first time since I’ve known Hierarchy and it struck me that Merlin is actually Arthur’s faggot. Although he resists it at first, as time passes it becomes clear that he’s hopelessly in love with his Alpha Master. He is devoted to him and worships him, in a one-sided relationship where Arthur treats him like a likeable stooge. Funny how the Hierarchy is even reflected in a popular family TV show!

I did not see that show; I’m not really big on watching a lot of serialized television (or much television in general). I took a glance at a little bit of it due to your question, and it looks kinda chintzy and cheap.

However, I’m not really surprised that the show reflects Hierarchy as you describe. You’re right – it’s literally everywhere once you’re trained to see it. It’s so ingrained into the very fabric of human society that art constantly and unconsciously reflects it.
