Let’s say this upfront: Alphas should be extremely attractive Men. After all, these Men are supposed to be our most superior examples of Manhood, and physical attractiveness is absolutely part of it.

If a guy claims to be Alpha but he looks like Paul Giamatti or Woody Allen, then you’d be right to question his claim.

Looks have more to do with Alphahood than simply as a marker of superiority; looks also can affect HOW an Alpha develops, or if he does at all.

I had a wonderful comment from a brother regarding a phrase I tossed off casually – “pretty privilege” – that illuminates some of what I’m talking about:

Pretty Privilege is a real thing and yes it can be a key component of an Alpha male’s dominance, and in a visual space like the on line world, it makes Findom easy. Too easy. Especially for pretty boys who are not really Alpha, hence the “Alphas” with air quotes. If you’re only pretty and not Alpha, go do pose per view. Don’t pretend to be something you’re not.

Sam, I just saw your comment about J0ckBroLifts – and was thinking the same thing – he’s an amazing Protector Alpha, who is also having a lot of success because of his Pretty Privilege. Pretty Privilege isn’t a crime, except when it’s passed off as equaling dominance.

This reader gets the idea. Findom (in particular) is filled with “pretty” straight guys with attractive faces and toned/muscular bodies. They make plenty of money from those genetic advantages, benefiting from the “pretty privilege”.

But are they really Alpha? In many cases, I’d say “no” they aren’t. Much the same way that lifting routines might give you muscle, but not the strength of Men who work on railroads or construction, so too does the “pretty privilege” gives Men the illusion of Alphahood without any of the real-world experience of true dominance.

Alphahood isn’t about getting inferiors to fawn over Planet Fitness Instagram pics. It’s about becoming a leader, gaining respect of other Alphas through courage, loyalty, and vision. It’s about having a natural charisma seasoned like valuable leather through experience.

Dominance isn’t about how often you show your feet or how loudly you demand money. It’s about embracing the confident stillness at the center of the storm and becoming it.

The “pretty privilege” ruins potential Alphas because it doesn’t teach them anything except the surface levels of Alphahood. Like children given everything for free in life, these pretty privilege Alphas become “spoiled”, and eventually worthless.

That’s not what we need from Alphas. Pretty faces won’t lead nations of Men, shape our world, or conquer obstacles. Just imagine one of these pretty Alphas actually fighting an enemy! It’s impossible to keep from snickering at the thought.

A true Alpha isn’t a flawless sculpture, but rather is a superior Man tested in all things and was proved victorious. His steel has been tempered by flame and hammered solid by battle. When he speaks, he does so with the authority of the generations of Alphas before him.

And in his shadow, lesser males kneel and gladly submit.

They may not always be pretty, but their deserved power is beyond beautiful!
