I’ve written plenty about different types of Alphas, their qualities and dispositions. From God Alphas to pre-Alphas, I’ve provided endless descriptive words and images to illustrate their defining attributes.

But there is another Alpha type I rarely get to discuss: the Hero Alpha.

It doesn’t have a dedicated section on the pyramid because it’s an action, not a persona. Any Alpha at any level can be a Hero Alpha if he’s moved to action by strong Protector Alpha instincts.

Yesterday, Federal prosecutor Jack Smith bravely sat before an extremely hostile (also: extremely stupid) group of Republican Senators and endured the most foul, hateful, and hysterical abuse I’ve ever seen in Congress.

Smith was cool, meticulous, and gloriously neutral in the face of the hateful morons howling in his face. He came armed only with the truth, and one mission: hold the line for American Democracy.

He did so bravely, even valiantly, and with a respectful stoicism that made his Republican opponents foam at the mouth with rage.

When they came for him, he didn’t run. He was the lone figure who refused to flee, to seek safer ground. He knew that someone had to stand firm with the truth against the tidal wave of lies and conspiracy horseshit crashing against the foundations of this nation.

Real Americans will remember Jack Smith the way they revere the heroes who stormed beaches filled with Nazis. Smith took every arrow and bullet shot at him, and emerged from the battle unscathed and even more powerful.

Anyone can be a true Hero Alpha, but few have what it takes to embody it through action.

But Jack Smith did yesterday, for all who believe in truth and righteousness.
