There is a question i cant get out of my head: are D/s dynamics fake? I realized that it is always the subs decision how much control they surrender, e.g. they are in charge of the dynamic. Doesnt that destroy the idea of a D/s dynamic where the Dom has actual power over the sub? Or are concepts like keyholding, actual control over finances or even blackmail the cornerstone of a true power dynamic? If i remember correctly, Alpha Aesthetic 8 has acquired legal authority over one of his subs. I always thought thats extreme but maybe that is the only true form of hierarchy and the rest is hierarchy play. I am curious to hear your view on that.

You ask an important and intriguing question. There are certainly some obviously fake D/s dynamics out there like performative ones I often bitch about here like leather play, furries/costume play, etc. I would also lump in those situations that are D/s during sex alone, reducing the power dynamic to nothing more than a form of stimulant rather than an all-encompassing way of life. Those are imitations of the very real dynamic that exists in nature.
But let’s get it straight: the D/s dynamic of hierarchy is very real and extends far beyond just a Master/faggot relationship. That power dynamic exists in corporate boardrooms around the world, in bars, gyms, military units, sports teams, and any place where Men vie for control. In all of those situations the sub male surrenders his power to the Alpha, not of free will or even coercion, but because that hierarchy is understood and accepted subconsciously.
You mentioned Master AlphaAesthetic8. Let’s be real: findom is largely a farce, full of fake faggots and faker Alphas doing performative bullshit to get off or get paid. Master AA8 is an outlier in that scene, a true straight Alpha who came to realize that faggots make good and useful pets, so he’s taken ownership of a handful of them. He’s one of the few who truly appreciate the truth of hierarchy and continues to respect its very real power.
So yes, I agree that there are fake applications of hierarchy, but hierarchy itself is as real as life and death.
